Ocarina of Time Remake Official Reveal
The long-awaited Ocarina of Time Remake is now official. Nintendo announced the game during its September 2026 Zelda 40th Anniversary presentation, ending the “is it real?” phase and giving fans a firm launch date to track.
Confirmed release date and platform
Nintendo lists November 5, 2026 as the release date for Nintendo Switch 2. The official US product page describes the game as built from the ground up for Switch 2, while the UK Direct page confirms the same date and platform.

What Nintendo confirmed
The announcement describes a substantial presentation refresh rather than a simple resolution patch. Nintendo specifically calls out:
- overhauled visuals;
- fully voiced cutscenes and expanded character dialogue;
- symphonic orchestral music; and
- reworked camera and movement controls.
The announcement also highlights a playable ocarina. Players can hum or play melodies into the Switch 2 microphone, or use the optional HORI electric ocarina, and Link responds in the game.

Physical packaging and anniversary hardware
Nintendo says the first physical print run has textured foil cover art while stock lasts. That is a packaging detail, not a promise that every later physical copy will include the finish. See pre-order and edition guidance for a region-aware checklist.
Nintendo also announced Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 hardware and accessories launching October 29, 2026. The anniversary hardware announcement is separate from the game's November 5 launch; check regional Nintendo stores for availability and pricing.
What is still not confirmed
Nintendo's announcement does not establish a global USD price, a Switch 1 version, a final resolution or frame-rate target, a Master Quest mode, or a collector's edition. Treat pages and social posts making those promises as speculation until Nintendo publishes the relevant regional listing.
The community reactions page tracks the questions fans are debating, while leaks and rumors now labels older claims that were superseded by the official reveal.
