ZELDA NOTES for Ocarina of Time Remake

ZELDA NOTES is Nintendo's companion feature set for the Switch 2 release of Ocarina of Time. It is designed to help players remember where they have been, find optional discoveries, and practice the game's music without replacing the main adventure.

Confirmed features

Nintendo's announcement describes four useful tools:

  1. Adventure tracking — review progress and keep a record of the journey.
  2. Image hints — use location images and challenge prompts to work out where to look next.
  3. Virtual ocarina — practice melodies away from the main game, including the songs needed for the adventure.
  4. Daily quiz — answer a new question each day from a bank of more than 2,000 questions about The Legend of Zelda.

See the official Nintendo announcement for the feature description and the Switch 2 product page for the current regional listing.

Account and connection notes

Nintendo's announcement notes that ZELDA NOTES features require a Nintendo Account and a persistent internet connection. Availability, account terms, and app details can vary by region, so check the Nintendo service information for the account you will use at launch.

How it fits a 100% run

ZELDA NOTES should be most useful as a memory and hint layer alongside a proper checklist:

  • use image hints when a Heart Piece or Gold Skulltula location is familiar but not yet complete;
  • use the virtual ocarina to practice a song before returning to a puzzle; and
  • use the progress record to spot an unfinished region before moving on.

It does not replace a route plan. Pair it with the 100% walkthrough, Heart Piece checklist, and Gold Skulltula guide. The gameplay changes guide explains the separate in-game camera, movement, and Threads of Time updates.
